For LifeShare Network, our state’s nonprofit organ procurement organization, 2025 was a year defined by kindness, community, and lives saved and healed through organ, eye and tissue donation. This year, LifeShare saved 600 lives through organ recovery, made possible by the compassionate decisions of 256 donor heroes and their loved ones. The organization also improved countless lives through the gifts of 949 tissue donors.
“Behind each life saved is a donor, a family, and our network of health care professionals and advocates committed to honoring the incredible gift of donation,” said Jeffrey Orlowski, President and CEO at LifeShare Network. “Because of the compassion and generosity of our friends and neighbors across Oklahoma, we can continue to offer hope and healing to all those impacted by our mission.”
LifeShare’s staff and hospital partners played a pivotal role in the organization’s success, working around the clock to support families, facilitate the gift of life and provide education about organ, eye and tissue donation. Additionally, LifeShare’s volunteers dedicated their time and talents to the mission, many of whom shared their personal donation and transplant stories with schools, workplaces, Service Oklahoma locations and community events across the state.
Each person who engaged with LifeShare’s mission helped to spark new conversations, dispel common misconceptions regarding donation, and inspire many to say, “Yes!” to saving lives.
Through these efforts, LifeShare reached exciting milestones, including opening a newly constructed Donor Memorial, launching Teen Board and Young Professionals Board programs, embarking on vital research to maximize opportunities for donation, winning awards across clinical and administrative teams, and growing the statewide registration rate to 66.3%.
As LifeShare looks ahead to 2026, the organization remains committed to expanding access to organ donation education, honoring donor heroes, supporting families and advancing its mission to save lives and inspire hope. The new year marks LifeShare’s 40th anniversary, a year of celebrations, continued lifesaving work and exciting initiatives to honor the legacy of all those who have given the gift of life.
