We understand that knowing how your loved one’s gifts may have helped others can bring comfort and healing. It is a privilege for us to share this part of their legacy with you whenever possible.

Please know: When someone gives the gift of tissue donation (skin, bone, heart valves, veins, corneas, etc.), the process of determining how those gifts were used takes time. Each donation goes through a detailed review to ensure safety and quality. Some tissue may not be suitable for transplant, and most transplants do not occur until several months after donation.

Because of this, tissue donation updates are not available until at least 12 months after your loved one’s donation.

For organ donor families, updates often include the number of lives saved through your loved one’s gifts, along with general information about each recipient (such as age range, gender, and any additional information we may receive). All of this information has been provided to you in the materials we have previously sent. The best way to find more information about your loved one’s organ recipient is to write them.
