LifeShare Network Celebrates 40 Years of Saving Lives and Inspiring Hope

LifeShare Network, Oklahoma’s only federally designated, nonprofit organ procurement organization, proudly celebrates its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of honoring the legacy of donor heroes and transforming the lives of all those impacted by organ, eye and tissue donation.

Founded in 1986, LifeShare has grown to be a nationally recognized leader in donation and transplantation services. Over the past 40 years, the organization has facilitated thousands of lifesaving organ transplants across the state and provided healing to countless more through eye and tissue donation.

“This milestone wouldn’t be possible without the generosity and compassion of every donor hero and every family who said ‘yes’ during their most difficult moments,” said Jeffrey Orlowski, President and CEO at LifeShare Network. “We also express gratitude to our hospital partners, volunteers, community advocates and everyone who believes in our mission to save lives and inspire hope.”

In its 40-year history, LifeShare has reached numerous milestones, including launching the LifeShare Donor Registry; opening its Clinical Innovation Center for tissue recovery, perfusion and research; making history as the first successful liver transplant after perfusion; engaging in leading research projects; and many more.

Throughout 2026, LifeShare Network plans to host a variety of LifeShare Foundation events, remembrance opportunities, educational initiatives, and digital media campaigns to highlight the donation and transplant community. These activities support the organization’s continued commitment to innovation, equitable access to donation education, and compassionate care.
