LifeShare Network reported a record-setting March for organ donation and transplantation, marking one of the most impactful months in the organization’s history.
During the month, LifeShare recorded 108 organs transplanted, the highest monthly total to date and 23 donation after circulatory death (DCD) donors, setting a new organizational record. Teams facilitated 18 lungs transplanted, tying the previous record. 53 kidneys and 27 livers were transplanted setting new records.
“These achievements reflect the dedication, expertise and compassion of our teams,” said Jeffrey Orlowski, President and CEO of LifeShare Network. “Our Organ Recovery, Hospital Development and Family Services teams, along with staff across the organization, work tirelessly to make these lifesaving outcomes possible.”
While celebrating the record-setting month, LifeShare emphasized that the impact is made possible by organ donors and their families.
“As we recognize this incredible progress, we remain deeply grateful to the donors and their families,” Orlowski said. “Their selfless decision, made in moments of profound loss, creates hope and healing for others. They are the true heroes behind every life saved.”
The milestone comes as LifeShare marks its 40th anniversary in 2026, celebrating four decades of saving lives and inspiring hope through organ, eye and tissue donation.
The need for organ, eye and tissue donors is still great; more than 800 Oklahomans need a lifesaving transplant, and more than 108,000 patients are waiting across the country. One donor hero can save up to 8 lives through organ donation and enhance up to 75 more through tissue donation.
